Allahumma Bika Amsayna

An authentic evening supplication: O Allah, by You we enter the evening, by You we live, by You we die, and to You is the resurrection.

Arabic

اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ

Transliteration

Allahumma bika amsaynaa Wa bika nahyaa Wa bika namootu Wa ilaykan-nushoor

Meaning

O Allah, by You we enter the evening. By You we live. By You we die. And to You is the resurrection.

Virtue of This Dhikr & Related Hadith

Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet ﷺ used to say in the morning: “O Allah, by You we enter the morning, by You we enter the evening, by You we live, by You we die, and to You is the resurrection.” In the evening he would say: “O Allah, by You we enter the evening, by You we live, by You we die, and to You is the resurrection.”
