Seeking Allah’s Protection — On Entering the Toilet

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ

Transliteration

Allahumma innee a'oodhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khabaa'ith

Meaning

O Allah, I seek Your protection from the male and female devils.

Virtue of This Dhikr & Related Hadith

When the Prophet ﷺ entered the place of relieving himself, he would say: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male and female devils.”

In Hammad’s narration, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say when entering the place of relieving himself—and in Hushaym’s narration, when entering the lavatory—: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male and female devils.”
